The desire to create is a wonderful denominator of our humanity, cutting across all cultures. It is irresistible.

But when it comes to distributing, sharing, and showcasing films born from a creator’s imagination, we are often at a loss.

The film industry, this incredible behemoth that spans the globe with its production and distribution companies, its aids, funding, and festivals…

… is like a closed jar.

It is inaccessible to those who are not already a part of it.

Many creators persevere because the creative force is stronger than anything. They invent and document, even without funding. Even without support.

Their determination brings forth strong, original, and unprecedented films. But what happens then?

These works remain in the shadows.

A powerful film does not touch us by its subject alone, even when it speaks about underrepresented minorities. It touches us because it tells the story of a character. A human being who resembles us. Sisteria Films is also about highlighting a still too marginal cinema today: queer films. Invisible until now, queer characters are starting to find their place in cinema, often in themed films. We want to go further by offering stories where queer characters have goals, ambitions, and reflections beyond their gender identity and sexual orientation. Films that speak of desires and love beyond genders, to touch the LGBT+ community, but not only. Because these subjects speak to all of us, whoever we are. We are committed to giving a prominent place to lesbian cinema, marginal among the marginalized in the history of cinema. Producing lesbian films means telling new stories outside of patriarchy. Producing lesbian films means bringing to life new stories that touch all of us, free from prejudices and stereotypes. Producing lesbian films means finally offering representation to future generations. Our goal? To revolutionize representations of gender and sexuality in cinema.

Our innovative approach to film goes beyond just creating and distributing films. We aim to establish a development and research hub to address the challenges of our time, such as: - How can we support queer and lesbian cinema by providing new forms of representation and identification for contemporary audiences? - How can we produce films that reflect the political, social, economic, and ecological changes of our era? - How can we reconcile the issues of sustainable development with film production, which is still far from achieving a zero-carbon footprint? It’s worth noting that the CNC conditions its support for production companies on criteria of eco-responsibility (carbon footprint assessment) and training in gender-based and sexual violence. Change has begun, but cinema remains a very conservative field. Introducing innovation is a challenge that Sisteria Films is committed to tackling. We aim to establish a network of partners (production and distribution companies, as well as artists, researchers, and academics) to explore these new issues posed by contemporary film creation. Social and technological innovation is at the heart of Sisteria Films: it’s central to our mission to advance the cinema of tomorrow. → We produce fiction, documentaries, music videos, and many other forms of visual storytelling.

Sisteria Films was born the day this desire turned into an unwavering determination.

It is a film production company that supports and champions the universe of the creators we believe in and the projects that matter to us.

Behind Sisteria Films is Lou Camille.

Trained at Sciences Po and La Sorbonne, Lou combines her literary vision with high-level managerial skills.

A passionate film enthusiast from a young age, she has developed a cutting-edge perspective on screenwriting, a spearhead for Sisteria Films.

As a Director of Photography, self-taught in fiction on the ground, she has brought her sense of nuance, light, and chiaroscuro to numerous audiovisual productions.

She has used her sensitivity to visualize films conceived by directors, with absolute respect for their intentions.

She is described as “a potential Terminator on the ground and a sorceress of the image” (David Yol).

“Terminator” is a beautiful hyperbole! Lou is also an expert team manager in production. Beyond that, her determination, resilience, and persuasive power have brought together talents, teams, and numerous partners in France and abroad (Switzerland, the United States, Canada, Italy, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom…).

Her hypersensitivity enriches her production company. It influences her working methods and the way important subjects are chosen—those that will touch people.

Lou is a producer who consults her inner self, the spectator moved by the stories she reads and watches. Stories that the audience loves and wants to hear.

With Sisteria Films, Lou chose to go further and personally produce and champion the films she cares about.

With Sisteria Films, Lou aimed to support films that are committed and speak to us at the deepest level.

Genre films, queer films, lesbian films.

In keeping with her own story, sensitivity, and commitment.

And in keeping with the talents she highlights—those who are hesitant to step into the spotlight, often women, but not exclusively. All those who question themselves because they haven’t been heard by the film world, even though they offer gems.

Maud Derrien, the ear for talent

Maud Derrien, the ear for talent

With Lou, Maud Derrien. The specialist in writing and screenwriting.

Maud completed a degree in literature at the University of Brest, then turned to cinema, obtaining a master’s degree in screenwriting from ESRA. She then worked as a screenwriter and consultant on several fiction projects.

Her first film was *Belladone*. It was there that Maud met Lou, who handled the cinematography.

As if it were meant to be, Maud joined Sisteria Films as the Head of Fiction Development from the company’s inception. She immediately contributed to the creation of the catalog.

Maud is the guide for our talents. She supports writers and screenwriters in developing their projects. Thanks to her, her kindness, humanity, and rigor, creators reach the full potential of their stories.
